Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business. Pledge 1% encourages and challenges individuals and companies to pledge 1% of equity, product, and employee time for their communities.
Pledge 1% founding partners include Salesforce.org, Atlassian, and Rally, three companies that know first-hand how pledging a small portion of future success today can have an enormous impact tomorrow. In 2014, they came together with the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to accelerate a shared vision of every business around the globe integrating philanthropy into its corporate DNA.

We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be a part of so many important opportunities this year. All team members have taken up the challenge to give their valuable time to support a cause and as a team we also step up together. One initiative we have put in place as a team is our snack donations, once a month we randomly pull the name of a charity out and donate the funds from our communal snack table to that Charity. We recently donated £100 to Anthony Nolan a charity close to the heart of our own Steph, find out more about Anthony Nolan and how you can help.
CloudShift was thrilled to support Kristina and Marcelle (a Surf Force Organiser) who travelled from London to the event location city Bundoran, Ireland. Beckey Finn, Clean Coasts creative media consultant was the Charity Keynote speaker, Beckey spoke of the ways in which they are raising awareness of the current situation with the enormous amount of plastic waste in the ocean and how it is impacting our eco system year by year. Inspired by the talk of Beckey, all attendees participated in cleaning the coasts campaign.
This was very satisfying experience, that raised the awareness of the current ecological situation in the environment we live in. Marcelle is again an organiser of SurfForce 2018 and we are excited to get behind this incredible experience again.
Kids Out UK

Valley End Cricket Club
Alastair gives his time to coaching the U11’s cricket team at Valley End Cricket Club. Alastair takes the highs and lows with the team, guiding them in a positive direction to help them grow and develop not only with their cricket skills but as young men. “Valley End Cricket Club like most local sporting clubs wouldn’t run successfully, without volunteers” said Alastair. “That’s why Cloudshift is part of Pledge 1% it allows our people to be part of something they’re passionate about. This in turn builds a stronger community and also develops the company culture that Cloudshift is proud of”. In addition to Alastair’s coaching at Valley End, our Events & Marketing Manager Yolanda, was part of a small 3-person committee that organised the cricket clubs annual fundraising ball for 120 people, this event raised just over £10,000 from ticket sales, raffles and a live auction hosted by Alastair.
