We believe in creating a legacy and supporting non-profits in our community which is why CloudShift is proud to be a founding member of Pledge 1% in the UK. We have an extensive program of initiatives throughout the year.
We pledge 1% of employees time annually for volunteer projects
We pledge 1% profit from our business to support initiatives in our local community
We pledge 1% of our resource to non-profits, helping to create change in our community
Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business. Pledge 1% encourages and challenges individuals and companies to pledge 1% of equity, product, and employee time for their communities.
Pledge 1% founding partners include Salesforce.org, Atlassian, and Rally, three companies that know first-hand how pledging a small portion of future success today can have an enormous impact tomorrow. In 2014, they came together with the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to accelerate a shared vision of every business around the globe integrating philanthropy into its corporate DNA.

Peace Direct is an international charity dedicated to supporting local people to stop war and build lasting peace, in some of the world’s most fragile countries. We have supported Peace Direct many times – taking part in the Abseil Challenge, featuring the UK’s highest freefall abseil with an 85m descent and our CEO went off on a 3-day survival challenge, raising an impressive £1,249.
CloudShift have purchased a number of these beautiful hand-made organic African products and we encourage you to do the same. Profits from Organic Savanna’s products fund classrooms and educational programs for vulnerable children at the Karibu Centre, a holistic community project in Kenya. CloudShift is proud to support SurfForce. Previously we have taken part in beach cleans and talks which help raise awareness of the enormous amount of plastic waste in the ocean and how it is impacting our ecosystem. This has been a very satisfying experience for those who took part and has helped raise awareness of the current ecological situation in the environment we live in.
Valley End Cricket Club is located in the small hamlet of Valley End between the villages of West End, Windlesham & Chobham. The club is the local area’s cricket success story, with 5 Saturday sides, and 3 Sunday sides which provide a place for everybody and anybody wishing to play, regardless of ability. CloudShift has supported Valley End Cricket Club for a number of years, including a donation towards their new cricket clubhouse, helping arrange fundraising events and our CEO Alastair coaching the U11’s team.
The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice is the leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families in the London and Surrey area. They are only 10% government-funded and rely heavily on donations to continue to provide the care and support that is so needed for affected families. We have been involved in many projects, such as the Spartan Challenge, a Christmas gift campaign and are proud to be event sponsor and have two people running the London Marathon in 2020 in support of this brilliant charity.
St Martin’s School in Nairobi, Kenya has a mission to educate as many children as possible, providing them with a safe environment where they can play, learn and receive regular meals. The school is located in Kibagare, one of the poorest areas in Nairobi. CloudShift is currently sponsoring two of the school’s pupils through their secondary school journey, covering the cost of education, accommodation, food and clothes throughout the year.
The Brixton Soup Kitchen is a local charity in South London, founded in 2013, whose aim is to provide a welcoming community hub to the homeless and people in need. They rely on donations and volunteers to keep up their brilliant work and they are always looking for motivated people to get involved! Team CloudShift got involved and it was an amazing experience to give back to the local community and raise money for Brixton Soup Kitchen!
Since 2003, AHOY have been supporting their community, helping thousands of disadvantaged youth and disabled adults achieve recognised qualifications whilst teaching valuable transferable skills through sailing, rowing and water-based activities.
