In aid of the International Day of Education, we joined forces with our parent company Globant to raise money for non-governmental organisations focused on providing education for less-fortunate children.
Our Race4Education challenge saw Globers and Shifties from across the UK and Europe get active and walk over the 11,000kms to the home of Globant in Buenos Aires. With Globant pledging to donate $1 for every kilometre walked during the month, we are delighted to announce that we, alongside our Globant friends in Europe, raised $13,450!
Our donation has been distributed across 3 charities, La Rueca in Spain, ADFABER in Romona and Voyage in the UK. All of these charities support technology training and empowerment programs for underserved youth communities in their given capital cities.
It truly was an exhilarating month, and we are so proud of our Shifties and Globers who went the distance to support disadvantaged youths’ gain access to education. Everyone here believes that every human has a right to education, but unfortunately this is not a reality for many children around the world. In line with the Pledge 1% initiative and Globant’s Be kind commitment, we continue to look for ways to support efforts to empower and deliver education to help break the cycle of poverty and promote equality.
