In recent months you may have seen our team getting their hands dirty tidying hospice garden areas, volunteering in London parks and even taking on the London Marathon, and you may be wondering why… well it’s all part of our commitment to Pledge 1%.
A global philanthropic movement, Pledge 1% aims to inspire, educate, and empower companies of any size to be a force for good. Founded on the principle that companies pledge 1% of their profit, product, equity and employee time for their communities and non-profits. Established in 2014 by Salesforce founder Marc Benioff and Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar, among others, they came together with the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to accelerate a shared vision of every business around the globe integrating philanthropy into its corporate DNA. In 2016, Pledge 1% became a special initiative of Tides, a leading global philanthropic partner and non-profit accelerator.
Here at CloudShift we are proud to be a founding member of Pledge 1% in the UK. We have seen first-hand how pledging a small portion of future success today can have an enormous impact tomorrow, which is why we are so committed to this program. Also as a Salesforce.org partner, we are delighted to work with some amazing non-profits to help them design and build Salesforce systems that offer greater insights and have the potential to act as a catalyst for them to achieve even greater good.
In a world where we are even more conscious of our impact, we also seek to align with our parent company Globant’s Be kind ethos. Segmented into four areas, Be kind to yourself, your peers, humanity and the planet, Globant pledges that together we can seek to make a positive impact in every way we can. By adopting this way of life we can take the necessary steps to transform our reality and provide us all with a brighter future.
What have we been up to lately…
The 2021 London Marathon
Four of our brave Shifties donned their trainers to run the iconic 26.2 mile route in aid of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, raising over £6,000!
VTO with Salesforce at Lambeth Park
Getting stuck in with some of our friends at Salesforce, we helped to maintain and clean up the communal spaces in Lambeth park.
Volunteering at Shooting Star Hospices
A group of our Shifties swapped their laptops for gardening tools and lent a hand in upkeeping the gardens at Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice in Hampton.
Comedy Night
Packing in the laughs all in aid of a good cause, we were joined by a line up of celebrity comics for a virtual comedy night raising a whopping £16,500 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Space Race Mission
To the moon and beyond for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices… Team CloudShift and Salesforce joined forces tracking their activity to rack up the miles to and from the moon (plus a couple of orbits for good measure).
5-a-side Charity Football Tournament
Joining the team at Salesforce for their 5-a-side Charity Tournament in aid of TackleAfrica, our team of Shifties showed off their fancy footwork as part of their World AIDS Day 2021 fundraising.
And we have some exciting upcoming plans…
As we get in the festive spirit we will continue to give back to those less fortunate than ourselves. This year we will be working with Whitechapel Mission, a charity that supports rough sleepers in the capital with donations of items they are in desperate need of, from food to winter wear. Plus continuing our support of children’s charity Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, an amazing organisation that provides hospice and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. In partnership with our parent company Globant, we will be contributing to their annual Christmas gift drive as we continue to seek out ways to give back.
