Supporting our friends at Salesforce and TackleAfrica, a team of our Shifties headed down to Shoreditch to take part in a charity 5-a-side football tournament. As part of their fundraising initiatives for World AIDS Day on 1st December teams from across Salesforce and the wider ecosystem were invited to show off their fancy footwork all in aid of this amazing cause. TackleAfrica does vital work to educate and overcome the stigma around HIV in Africa, an area where around 69% of new cases are diagnosed. The charity aims to use the power and popularity of football to share information and resources with young people across the continent.
Between the 19 teams that took part, the event managed to raise over £20,000 to support TackleAfrica which is a fantastic amount – congrats to the organisers!! Even though team CloudShift didn’t win on this occasion they had a great time connecting with our Salesforce friends across the ecosystem who took part.
At CloudShift we love getting involved with initiatives just like this as part of our Pledge 1% promise and our commitment to the Globant Be kind ethos. For more information and to check out what other activities we’ve taken part in lately click here.
