We're teaming up with Shooting Star and Salesforce to get to the moon and back!
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices have launched a brand-new mission that’s sure to be a blast! From the 1st March, they are calling all budding astronauts and moon marvellers to join them on an extraordinary mission – the Shooting Star Space Race.
Team CloudShift and friends from Salesforce will be launching for the stars by walking, running and cycling as many miles as we can to help their rocket reach its lunar destination. The Moon is an astronomical 238,855 miles away, but fortunately, the charity has used a special Shooting Star formula (one Earth mile = 50 Space miles), so the Space Race team of fundraisers need to collectively cover 16,337miles in 31 days to make the mission to the Moon and back a success.
CloudShift has been supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospices as part of our Pledge 1% commitment for many years now, and the charity does essential work caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
Shooting Star is only 10% government-funded and relies heavily on donations to continue to provide the care and support that is so needed for affected families. As you can imagine, the last year has seen all of their major fundraising events cancelled, so we want to help make this virtual event a success.
