Salesforce acquires Slack

Slack joins the Salesforce Ecosystem

Salesforce will acquire Slack, the leading enterprise communications platform for approximately $27.7 billion in 2021.
Salesforce and Slack have entered into a definitive agreement that will be finalised next year with Slack joining the Salesforce family. We are really excited about this acquisition and look forward to see how the integration of Slack with Customer 360 will transform the industry and help Customers grow and succeed in the all-digital world.

Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO at Salesforce comments on the announcement: “Stewart and his team have built one of the most beloved platforms in enterprise software history, with an incredible ecosystem around it. This is a match made in heaven. Together, Salesforce and Slack will shape the future of enterprise software and transform the way everyone works in the all-digital, work-from-anywhere world. I’m thrilled to welcome Slack to the Salesforce Ohana once the transaction closes.”

The global pandemic has had great impact on companies’ plans for digital transformation and it has accelerated the move to an all-digital world. Businesses are expected to deliver connected experiences for their customers across every touchpoint and enable their employees to work seamlessly wherever they are. Slack and Salesforce will help comapnies achieve just that by creating a single source of truth for their business and a unified platform for connecting employees, customers and partners with each other and the apps they use every day, all within their existing workflows.
