Successful Real-Time Real Estate event

CloudShift were delighted to host Real-Time Real Estate with Salesforce on 21st September, with over 70 guests coming along to our London office at 20 St Dunstans Hill.

There was a great mix of attendees across the construction and property sector, and a real range in terms of start-up companies as well as medium and large established businesses. Guests enjoyed live demonstrations from Salesforce executives and shared their experiences with each other on how they implemented and get the most out of Salesforce.

The evening started with an introduction from our Managing Director Alastair Murray who welcome our guests and gave advice on how to successfully implement and optimise Salesforce, drawing from over 10 years of experience using the world’s leading CRM platform.

Alastair was followed by Karen Muldoon and Jonny Marriott from Salesforce who updated guests on the latest Salesforce news. Jonny also highlighted that 77% of customers are not engaged with a company and that businesses should make customers a key asset in every business and engage with them.

A star turn for the evening was Serial Entrepreneur Hugh Chappell who gave highlights from his career including working at Apple in the UK in 1979 when the PC industry was in its infancy to founding successful businesses including Taxan (Europe) Ltd and TrustedReviews.com.

A main highlight for the Real-Time Real Estate event was the panel discussion who provided a great insight into how Salesforce is revolutionising the property and construction industry. The star line up was;

  • Paul Harris, Head of Business Applications, British Land
  • Kate Morgan – EMEA CRM Programme Manager, Colliers International UK
  • Sanders Lazier – COO, GoodLord
  • Carlos Rosa – Sales and Marketing Director, The Vacant Property Specialists

Paul explained that it was essential for all teams and departments in a business to know exactly what conversations each other were having with a customer by using Salesforce. He also discussed the value of the ‘Taxi Report’ where staff see a high level overview of who they are meeting when en route to an appointment in their taxi. Having a senior sponsor of Salesforce within your business was another key tip for a successfully implementation.

Kate highlighted how Salesforce is bringing together information from everyone’s head in to one central place and how it is important to learn to walk before you try and run through a controlled and well managed implementation and roll out of Salesforce.

Sanders explained how his experience of working at Salesforce for over 3 years enabled him to streamline the on board process and helped a smooth uptake with staff hungry to get the most out of the platform. He reported that technology empowers people to be the best they can be.

Carlos discussed how, by working closely with CloudShift, he was able to effectively implement Salesforce and he highlighted the value of getting a senior partner in a business involved with Salesforce in the strategy and planning stages of the project.

Following the panel discussion, guests went up to ‘The Deck’ where we enjoyed drinks and canapes whilst enjoying the stunning city views. There were also demo pods set up for guests to learn about the latest Salesforce innovations and explore the system in more detail.

We would like to extend a big thank you to all our speakers at the event, to our friends at Salesforce and to all our guests who came along.

If you were unable to attend but would like more information on how to implement or optimise Salesforce then we would be happy to give you more help and advice.

We look forward to welcoming more great speakers and guests at our next event!
