Globant Converge – The Power of Reinvention

Globant Converge - the power of reinvention

Gathering some of the brightest minds that are reshaping our future, this week we tuned into the latest Converge event from Globant centred around The Power of Reinvention. The virtual event brought together some of the greatest, most innovative minds from Buenos Aires to Madrid and New York to share their insights.

As the world reinvents itself, everything must be reinvented alongside it. With the acceleration of change experienced over the past few years, there is even greater pressure on companies to seek reinvention. Now is the time for organisations to examine what reinvention looks like for them, how they can multiply their impact and set out the path for future success.

With James Corden guiding us through proceedings for the 15th edition of Converge we heard from some great minds including Globant Co-founders Guibert Englebienne and Martín Migoya. Kicking off with a philosophic take on tech, Professor Yuval Noah Harari shared his thoughts on how technology can help humans flourish. Explaining the importance of understanding the human relationship with technology he expressed the need to harness the capabilities to empower rather than control.

Following on from this Guibert announced Globant’s latest initiative that aims to tackle the negative societal effects created by the misuse or misapplication of technology, introducing the BeKind Tech fund. As the challenges emerge as a result of technology, The initiative is taking lead to support tech start-ups in finding effective solutions.

An event designed to not only inform but inspire, Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer at Globant, introduced us to organisations that are tackling reinvention now. Across various industries, Globant Customers shared their reinvention experience. From the use of AI within health care and Breast Cancer Screening research, blockchain for developing financial services infrastructure within developing countries, the development of artificial energy to solve sustainable issues and even creating a digital communication hub for the Metropolitan Police, the potential for transformation is endless.

Globant also shared their insights on the future of tech and in particular what part the resurgence of the Metaverse will play. Matias Rodriguez, VP for Technology and Metaverse Studio at Globant shared his insight to how this will impact the future of social interactions alongside the expert panel. The importance of creating an immersive and engaging experience was echoed by all, challenging companies to create experiences that merge physical and digital lifestyles and create authentic shared experiences.

Musician and tech entrepreneur Will.i.am and Argentinian music producer Bizarrap also joined to share insights drawing comparisons with the tech and music industry. Will.i.am expressed interest in the future of AI and how it will be adopted and integrated in our day to day lives and reinforced his investment in education to support the tech entrepreneurs of the future, an initiative shared by Globant Co-Founder Martín Migoya.

An event that left us inspired and invested in the future of tech, our parent company Globant once again delivered a very thought-provoking and empowering. If you missed it then you’re still in luck as the full event is available to watch now over on the Globant website.
