Valley End Cricket Club opens new cricket pavilion, sponsored by CloudShift
CloudShift was proud to be headline sponsor at the grand opening of Valley End Cricket Club’s new pavilion on Sunday 9th August. We have been a long time sponsor of Valley End Cricket Club as part of our Pledge 1% commitment and were delighted to join them at this inauguration and see this brand new facility launched for the local community.
The day kicked off with David Gower, former England captain, opening the pavilion at midday and sharing an insightful ‘Life in Cricket’ talk for all guests. Following this was a ‘Festival of Cricket’, with games involving the club’s Youth and Social cricket teams as well as the famous Marylebone Cricket Club
Valley End Cricket Club has a rich heritage, spanning 125 years, and they pride themselves on being inclusive of all age groups, genders and abilities. The new stylish pavilion will allow the club to expand their work thanks to brand new changing rooms, a bar, kitchen, scorers room, storage facilities and lots of social spaces.
Obviously due to the current health climate, the event was paired down from original plans, but it was still great to attend and meet some of the players, their families and members of the local community.
Donald Kingsnorth, Chairman of VECC says: “We would like to thank CloudShift for their generous and continued support for the development and future success of the club. The support CloudShift has given us particularly this season has been pivitol to everything we have achieved”.
Benjamin Murray, CMO at CloudShift says: “CloudShift were delighted to attend the pavilion launch and we would like to wish all the members of Valley End Cricket Club and the families many happy years of cricketing and fond memories at this fantastic new community hub. Pledge 1% is an integral part of the CloudShift culture, and we are excited about other community initiatives in the pipeline”.
