How to build the perfect agenda for Dreamforce

It’s that time of the year again – the first frost, falling leaves, scarves, hot chocolate and Dreamforce. The annual event will once again be in San Francisco 19-22 November and Salesforce has over 2,400 breakouts and theatre sessions, 60+ hours of hands-on workshops, over 100 Circles of Success, and 100 workshops in store for you. That is a combined total of more than 800 hours in just 4 jam-packed days!

Luckily enough, Salesforce is also providing us with a handy tool to help manage these 5 whirlwind days via the Salesforce Events App which allows you to bookmark your favourite sessions and build a schedule for your Dreamforce experience. Here at CloudShift we have found it invaluable to plan out our visit to Dreamforce and we are going to share a few tips on how to build the perfect agenda so you get the most out of your visit to Dreamforce.

Filter, filter, filter!

Filters are your friends. Don’t forget that you will be combing through over 2,400 sessions you will need to use the filters to segment the sessions according to your individual interests. Salesforce is providing content for 18 industries, 22 roles, 43 products and 26 themes so these filters will allow to narrow down the content and make your Dreamforce experience as personal as possible.

Keep it short & sweet

Don’t forget to book some theatre sessions! The sessions are only 20 minutes long and content varies from success stories to hand-on demonstrations and so much more. They are the perfect opportunities to fill in time in between sessions with some interesting bite-sized content.

Scope out your faves

Dreamforce has a fantastic lineup of keynote speakers this year (Barack Obama will be there!) so make sure you don’t miss out on your favourites and start bookmarking now to avoid disappointment.

Top tip: Make sure you allow plenty of time to queue for keynotes, and also check-in at least 10 minutes before the session start time!

Einstein knows best

Make sure to heed the advice of Einstein AI. When registering for Dreamforce you might remember to have selected a few topics that are of interest to you – Einstein AI will analyse those topics in your Agenda Builder, together with your bookmarks and provide you with a curated list of suggested sessions for your Dreamforce experience.

Can’t book it? No panic

Is one of your favourite session booked out? Don’t worry Salesforce will save 25% of all seats (theatres, hands-on-workshops, circles of success, and a few workshops excluded) for walk-ins, so if you have discovered something new to learn you should hopefully be able to attend!

Don’t overdo it

Don’t try to cram too much in one day! It’s better to space out your sessions and not be overwhelmed with information.

Salesforce recommends three or four sessions per day as an achievable goal – this will give you time to also explore the Customer Success Expo and meet with product experts and Salesforce partners. Last but not least, enjoy all the unexpected moments happening across Dreamforce!

You are now ready to start bookmarking your sessions and create a game plan for Dreamforce! Follow the CloudShift blog for all updates on Dreamforce and don’t forget to be social! We are on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram – check us out!
