Salesforce acquire MapAnything & Bonobo AI

Over the past month Salesforce have announced some interesting new acquisitions.  Firstly, in April, they announced their agreement to acquire the location-based intelligence software, MapAnything, which was built on the Salesforce Platform.

MapAnything’s products have been available through the AppExchange for some time so the acquisition may not come as a surprise to many.  Salesforce stated in their press release that “with MapAnything, Salesforce will be uniquely positioned to extend the power of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud post-closing to deliver market-leading location-based intelligence solutions that improve field sales and services employee productivity and deliver customer success.”

Salesforce go on to state that this MapAnything acquisition will benefit world leading brands by helping them accurately plan: “how many people they need, where to put them, how to make them as productive as possible, how to track what’s being done in real time and what they can learn to improve going forward.”

Earlier last week it was also announced Salesforce had acquired the conversational AI start-up, Bonobo.  Founded in 2017, Bonobo AI is a conversational platform that allows companies to analyse customer interactions and turn customer conversations into meaningful insights.

In their press release, Bonobo AI stated how their platform “will enhance the power of Salesforce Sales Cloud by leveraging conversational intelligence within the Salesforce Platform, allowing companies to utilise one of their most valuable sources of data – customer interactions.”

This is the fourth acquisition for Salesforce so far this year and we are sure it will not be the last.
